Annual Cleaning Procedure

Multi-Room Coating Operation requiring annual comprehensive cleaning

Traditionally, equipment disassembly, cleaning and re-assembly has taken 5 days to complete. Our customer conducted a controlled study to determine the efficacy of VRTrain for infrequent, complex procedures. Their experienced operators were required to accurately perform the procedure in our virtual environment prior to working on the actual equipment.
RESULT: Annual cleaning procedure was reduced to 2.5 days

New Technician Certification Time

New Tablet Press Technicians, Long Campaigns, Infrequent Product Changeover and Major Cleaning

Traditionally, it has taken new technicians over 6 months to become proficient because of limited hands-on experience resulting from long campaigns. VRTrain trained new technicians how to assemble the tablet press for startup and operation without interrupting production.
RESULT: After just one week of SOP study, VRTrain and OJT, the new compression technicians accurately setup the press the first time without error.

Reduced SME Involvement

Packaging and Processing Areas Show Similar Results

In most plants, Subject Matter Experts are relied upon to provide the majority of ongoing new operator training and retraining through Peer-to-Peer OJT. Three independent client sites deployed VRTrain as the first training element for new operators and the SME involvement in training at each plant was reduced by at least 40% in each case.
RESULT: Over 40% reduction in SME involvement in training new operators.
