VRTrain uses a proprietary interactive 3D virtual machine environment to safely and effectively train personnel off‐line according to the best practice standard operating procedures for the equipment. The program includes self‐paced learning, practice and test modes for maintaining operator certification.
VRTrain Progressive Learning Methodology
The learning mode introduces the learner to essential machine parts, stations, tools and ancillary equipment as well as the available setup, operating and troubleshooting procedures for the equipment. Through self-paced interaction with the Parts List or Activity List, the learner can find individual parts or view a series of animated activities to perform a procedure.
The practice mode requires the learner to use the predefined views and a mouse to navigate around the environment to identify a specific part, machine station or tool in the proper sequence (tasks) according to the question in the top panel. The learner receives immediate feedback regarding the accuracy of their selection. With each attempt, knowledge retention increases dramatically until the learner is confident enough to proceed to the Test Mode.
The test mode requires the learner to use the predefined views and a mouse to navigate around the environment to identify a specific part, machine station or tool in the proper sequence (tasks) according to the test question in the top panel. The learner’s selections are recorded as answers and are viewable at the link above after submitting the test. The unit is considered complete when the learner achieves a satisfactory score.
VRReference incorporates the same part identification and animated step‐by‐step procedures from VRTrain into an easy‐to-use, interactive browser‐based application providing ready guidance at the machine for operators to practice and refresh their knowledge of infrequent complicated tasks.
